After a break in the work on this part of the building the new brickwork above the existing block was laid today.
As we had very little chance of finding a match for the blocks already there it was decided to go for something that was obviously different rather than settling on a block that would have been a poor match. Using a brick also clearly shows what has been added in this phase of the schools history.
The existing blocks were cast concrete and the brick that has been added is also a cast concrete so in time these will weather and achieve a similar look.
The sofit now needs adding to finish this off.
